From blogger to serial entrepreneur – with T. Bertrand from Ship&Co

詳細

This week, Thomas Bertrand will share with us his entrepreneurship journey, from bootstrapping a simple blog to running two companies. When he created his blog in 2003 to share his experience as an exchange student at Kyoto University, Thomas had no idea the platform would lead to the creation of Bento&Co, an e-commerce platform exporting bento boxes all over the world. As the platform grew, Thomas started struggling with the shipping solutions available and went on creating his own online shipping service: Ship&Co. The project just closed a $920K round of investment. Thomas is operating from Kyoto and will also share information on the local tech scene.

ApéroTalk is our event series based on a very simple (and very French) concept: Apéro and Talk.

Agenda
• 7:00 pm – Doors open

• 7:30 pm – Talk and Q&A by Thomas

• 8:30 pm – Networking session

About Thomas Bertrand

Thomas was born in France in 1981. He moved to Japan in 2003 as an exchange students at Kyoto University and fell in love with the city. Thomas launched his first blog the same year before creating Bento&Co in 2008. While his blog followers were his first customers, Bento&Co now has customers in over 100 countries. Based on his own business needs, Thomas later created Ship&Co, a SaaS solving logistics issues faced by e-commerce operators. About Le Wagon Tokyo
