Tokyo FinTech Meetup #54 – FIN/SUM Special

We are extremely excited to have three startups competing at FINSUM: Thought Machine from the UK, Pliance from Sweden, and Merkle Science from Singapore!

Enjoy the exclusive talk sessions and meet the three different yet influential key players in fintech at our Tokyo Fintech Meetup!!

Guest Introduction:

Core Banking will never be the same again!
Thought Machine is one of the UK’s leading Fintech companies and over the last four years, have deployed 100+ engineers to build a banking core like there is no other.
Thought Machine’s mission is to cure one of the banking industry’s primary problems: its reliance on outdated IT infrastructure. Nearly every bank is stuck on a legacy IT platform, which cripples their ability to innovate and give their customers the type of service they deserve.
Thought Machine’s solution to this is Vault: a complete retail banking platform that is capable of being configured easily to suit the needs of any bank. Vault has been built from the ground up as a cloud native, microservice API architecture platform. Thought Machine has a deep culture of engineering excellence, and they believe it is this which delivers a solution compelling enough to engender a seismic shift in the banking industry.

Pliance offers APIs to help growing fintech companies automate their AML (anti money laundering) processes. By performing screening against PEP (politically exposed persons) and sanctions lists via an API, and through automated monitoring, our customers can focus on building their core products and services.

Merkle Science is a risk/blockchain monitoring solution to detect and prevent illegal use of cryptocurrencies. Their cryptocurrency transaction monitoring platform monitors all incoming and outgoing crypto transactions to ensure that corporates are not transacting with blockchain addresses linked to illicit behaviour such as ransomware or darkness marketplaces and to prevent businesses from unknowingly facilitating money-laundering or financing of terrorism.
